Mexichem Fluor Appeals US. International Trade Commission Dumping Decision over R-134a
In the latest salvo in a long-running dispute, Mexichem Fluor has appealed the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling that the importation of Chinese refrigerants does not harm the U.S. refrigerant gas industry.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Dept. of Commerce had ruled that dumping duties of 280.67 percent and countervailing duties of 11.14 percent were justified after finding that the import of Chinese R-134a resulted in material injury or threat of material injury to the U.S. refrigerant industry. Following a vote of 4-2 against this decision, ITC eliminated the dumping duties and countervailing duties.
Airgas Refrigerants continues to field questions and comments from members of the U.S. refrigeration industry who feel that U.S. manufacturing cannot compete against what they believe is unfair and illegal pricing for R-134a.
