R-22 is Not Banned! Get the EPA PDF Here

June 26, 2018

ASPEN Refrigerants has a free downloadable PDF from the EPA detailing the ongoing use of R-22. Get it here, so you can know and share the truth: R-22 can be used well beyond January 1, 2020. The EPA phasedown relates to production and importing only—R-22 is not being banned.

The PDF brochure may be downloaded at the end of this article or by following embedded links within this article.

ASPEN Refrigerants is embarking on an industry educational campaign to help contractors and other industry members understand the phasedown actions and schedule in order to help consumers know what to consider with R-22 and their existing systems.

The EPA trifold brochure here tells how in 2020, no new R-22 can come on the market, and how existing supplies and reclaimed R-22 will be available and legally used for years to come.

In addition to the timeline of the phasedown, topics covered in the brochure include the Cost and Availability of R-22, Servicing Systems with R-22, Buying a New Air Conditioner and Alternative Refrigerants.

ASPEN Refrigerants has begun advertising in industry trade publications to inform customers that R-22 continues to be legal today and long after the 2020 phaseout of production. ASPEN will roll out additional communications material on R-22 and its availability over the coming months.
