Environmental Sustainability

ASPEN takes environmental stewardship commitment seriously; it’s an active part of our refrigerant management processes. From recovery, recycling and reclamation to responsible end of life management, you can trust ASPEN to be your partner for CFC refrigerants.

Unnecessary release of CFC refrigerants contributes to both Global Warming and atmospheric Ozone Depletion. ASPEN’s end of life CFC management programs work to ensure that CFCs are recovered to avoid their atmospheric release. From there, the CFCs may be reclaimed for reuse or earmarked for destruction. Recovered and reclaimed CFCs are used to support operating chillers until they are schedule to be replaced.  CFCs earmarked for destruction are destroyed using EPA approved methodologies.

CFC chillers continue to age, and most are well past their intended life span. Replacing and upgrading these chillers can be an expensive and time-consuming process. ASPEN helps counteract this cost by buying your used CFCs for best market pricing. And if you need recovery of CFCs from a chiller or other equipment, we can help with that too.

Choosing ASPEN as your CFC partner provides peace of mind and the following benefits:

  • We purchase all CFCs including R-11, R-12, R-500, R-113, R-114, R-115 at best market prices
  • We manage all logistics from recovery, transport, paperwork and destruction
  • We provide all necessary EPA approved documentation to demonstrate the destruction of CFCs
  • You earn cash to counteract project costs, you comply with all EA regulations and you have contributed positively to the environment.
